Transforming Nature to Art

On Friday, April 6th, Ontario ARC’s Dana Kincaid (Horticulture Specialist) & Christin Lersch (Art Specialist) co-facilitated the workshop “Transforming Nature to Art” at the 9th annual Arts Experience Festival. The workshop was hosted at the Hobart and William Smith Colleges Fribolin Farm site and brought together artist participants from Ontario ARC, Arc of Monroe, Arc of Seneca-Cayuga, Arc of Yates and the local community for an enjoyable afternoon of sharing and creating together, taking inspiration from our natural surroundings. Beautiful colorful prints were created, using leaves and natural objects. Finished pieces were placed in wooden frames that workshop participants stained using an all-natural homemade recipe. The end result as we looked around at everyone’s beautifully inspired creations: realizing the beauty that surrounds us every day– what a wonderful way to call in Spring!
